I don’t like David Tennant, can’t put my finger on why he just seems a bit creepy. I’m sure he’s not I just don’t like him.

The acute accent on the é and the surname Chalamet is a clue that he’s French.

Mrsjayy · 10/02/2024 15:23

apparently that's the French spelling Timothee has a French parent.maybe his mum? I find him inoffensive although his showmance with the Jenner girl is annoying.

That explains it, I thought it was just pretentious fancy spelling. Thanks.

David Walliams and Lorraine Kelly don't give off any "I kill kittens by stamping on their little heads" vibes but I just don't like them.
He is dead behind the eyes and does the camp/predatory act which wears very thin.
She is all smiley laughy throwing her head back to chortle (at feck all) like someone who would be all over you but bitch you up behind your back .

I would avoid them IRL.
I have people IRL that I avoid . I don't want to get to know them. I'll be polite but that's as far as it goes . They don't give me any vibes that they're shy or reserved and I should try harder . My life is too short.

Oh yes. Both of them

But I do know why. They both sound like toddlers who can't speak properly

And Paloma Faith. Sounds like a lispy preschooler. I'm sure her voice is put on & in reality speaks like Babs from Royston Vasey League of Gentlemen.

It's human nature to dislike and critique other humans, this thread isn't nasty, people are just saying they don't like other humans for no reason. It's not cruel it's just life!

Of course it's human nature to have likes and dislikes, but we will have to agree to disagree.

People are listing all sorts of reasons, some spurious, some personal. It's not an idle list of people you might have an aversion too, it's pointed and personal.

I also don't agree that just because the press are cruel it means we should be. That's another defence offered since I posted.

I probably, actually certainly, would have joined in once upon a time but as I've got older, I've less stomach for it.

dayswithaY · 10/02/2024 15:28

I used to like Katherine Ryan but I’ve had enough now. Yes, we are all aware you have three kids - but of them is a teenager. So you had two babies close together and now you’re co-sleeping and breast feeding and it’s so hard and you’re so busy.

Solution - hire a couple of nannies (she probably has but that doesn’t make for interesting TV) and just change the subject please. Lots of women are doing what you’re doing right now but with less money and help. Go back to stand up or game shows or whatever.

Timothee Chalomet - I have a problem with his name. Double e and no y? Aargh! It looks so wanky and “artistic” I can’t bear it.

Same as Kym Marsh, it’s Kim, stop trying to be different!

ginasevern · 10/02/2024 15:31

Paddy MacGuinness. Can't stand him.

There are others but probably too many to list.

Or of one of several nationalities that use accute accents.

ElleWoods15 · 10/02/2024 15:35

Mention of Kym Marsh reminds me- Myleene Klass defo belongs in this category.

Splodgerbodgerbadger · 10/02/2024 15:46

Yes to Gregg Wallace too, he’s just so irritating same goes for Susan Calman.

David Tennant was in an episode of The Bill back in 1995 ( I know most actors have been in The Bill/Casualty/Holby City/Doctors or Waterloo Road . )

He played a nasty kidnapper .
So even back then he was a creepy actor .

Secret Smile ,Bad Samaritan and The Politicians Husband - not likeable characters .

He's a great actor but he isn't my favourite Dr Who (that'll be Tom Baker )

Oh , I wasn't a fan of Susan Calman but I love her series on cruise holidays .
And she is a Lawyer <respect>

Agree that Tom Baker is definitely the best Doctor Who.

Jools Holland, can't watch him at all
James Martin make me irrationaly angry
Amanda Holden is just irritating

Completely agree on James Martin, goes on about his Yorkshire roots but has a posh accent and he’s always on the telly.

I'm going to sound ancient here, but back in the day Leonard Rossiter used to give me the ick. I was only a kid when he was popular, and in hindsight I think he was an amazing actor, but after Rising Damp he always gave me Rigsby vibes no matter what part he was playing.

Oh yes, he was just awful, I never knew why Rising Damp was so popular, maybe because of the very young Prince, Don Warrington, every time I see him in Death in Paradise I think of Rising Damp.

CherryRipe1 · 10/02/2024 16:01

I don't mind him but his name is annoying (Btw I have a 'foreign' name that is amusing to some). I call him Timotei Champumatete

Jemimapinotduck · 10/02/2024 16:03

Wishihadanalgorithm · 10/02/2024 16:05

It’s interesting so many people say DT as he makes my flesh crawl.

I saw him in Much Ado in London years ago and he was awful. Very hammy. He starred alongside Catherine Tate and whilst she wasn’t great either, she was better than him.

I wonder if it’s because he is soo confident when on TV/radio being interviewed? It’s like he “knows” he’s a great actor, has lots of famous people as friends and can pick and choose roles. Very smug and trying too hard to be sincere and humble.

Something makes me shudder when I see him which is weird, isn’t it?

JMSA · 10/02/2024 16:10

The annoying, short-arsed Scottish TV presenter. Susan someone.
I don't think she'd be a bad person; it's more that I wonder how she got the gig!

But more that anyone ... James Corden.
I don't like anyone who gives off toxic male vibes.

QuacketyQuack · 10/02/2024 16:16

Kate Garraway, Rachel Riley, Amanda Holden, Emma Watson, Boris Johnson.

PicklesAndTequila · 10/02/2024 16:16
