I don’t like David Tennant, can’t put my finger on why he just seems a bit creepy. I’m sure he’s not I just don’t like him.

OP posts:
Cinateel · 10/02/2024 13:19

Carol Vorderman.

BarrelOfOtters · 10/02/2024 13:19

i saw David Tennant in Macbeth last week. He’s a skinny strip of nothing, but he can bloody well act.

he comes across well in interviews.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/02/2024 13:21

Luckily I don't see much of Lorraine Kelly on tv but when she's in a magazine article or God forbid the cover , she always has this stupid open mouth laughy smile .

Oh everything is so hilarious , look at me I'm so bubbly and laughy . Aren't I funny and SO popular . Hmm

Don't really want to be seeing your tonsils thanks , Hen .

Funkyslippers · 10/02/2024 13:29

Cat Deeley. She's v irritating. She was brought back on TV presenting This Morning recently and she just laughed her way through the whole week as far as I could see. Nobody is that happy all the time

Atticladder · 10/02/2024 13:37

Ed gamble - creepy vampiric vibe.
Naga Munchetty - full of self.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 10/02/2024 13:37

Also when in mid 20s/mid 30s where I worked (Baker Street) and Kensington High Street you’d see loads of celebs but they were never rude, just strolling down Marylebone High Street or in McDs Kensington High Street or in The Social bar or Jerusalem bar having fun. Half of us didn’t even clock they were in those bars. You did sometimes see someone who looked full of themselves, Lily Allen on Marylebone High Street once, but we never bothered about that. Have seen Tracey Emin drunk in the Golden Heart pub in Spitalfields as it’s her local but again nothing to do with us and not rude to us!

The ones who are known for being rude well they’re known for that in the industry too but people who work with them either bitch about them or they have hangers on. In my 30s my best mate met Katie Price in a gay pub on London Road and said she was lovely and quiet, about 15-20 years ago.

One person who’s a very z list celeb is Gemma Collins. I used to bump into some of the Towie crowd in bars in Romford and Brentwood as I had a friend who was keen on those bars and liked it there. The GC as she’s known, pushed past me really rudely in the Romford bar, in a packed area, because she’s tall and big, it hurt and she trod hard on my foot with her heel. No apology, just a hard nosed stare even after I loudly said owww! Saw her in Teriss Bar in Brentwood a couple of months later and avoided her but had the same hard faced attitude and unpleasant look. She looks horrible on tv though.

AddictedToBooks · 10/02/2024 13:40

Taylor Swift and I genuinely don't know why I don't like her. She's never done anything to offend me and although her music isn't my thing, it's okay and I'll listen to it, if it's on, but there's just something about her that irritates me.
She'd probably think the same about me though to be fair.

Doppe · 10/02/2024 13:43

Oohyoudaftbat · 09/02/2024 21:29

Ore Oduba. The most smug, insufferable man on TV.

Oh yes, very much agree - he def gives off smug vibes!

BreakfastAtMilliways · 10/02/2024 13:48

Davros · 09/02/2024 20:57

Leonardo Decaprio
Dawn French (fat jokes anybody?)
They'd make a great couple

Hah, some chance if you’ve ever seen the stream of 25 year old models he hires dates. Not entirely sure he actually likes women.

bringincrazyback · 10/02/2024 13:55

I'm going to sound ancient here, but back in the day Leonard Rossiter used to give me the ick. I was only a kid when he was popular, and in hindsight I think he was an amazing actor, but after Rising Damp he always gave me Rigsby vibes no matter what part he was playing.

BreakfastAtMilliways · 10/02/2024 13:58

Leela2 · 10/02/2024 00:15

Keira Knightley
Naga Munchetty
Hugh Grant

Dorset Naga is the name of a particular variety of chilli pepper that’s so hot it’s almost poisonous.

I suspect Naga Munchetty might be flattered by the comparison.

RhubarbGingerJam · 10/02/2024 14:01

Martin Freeman - everyone else I can find a reason for - but I even like his acting mostly just don't want to watch interview and wouldn't want anything to do with him in RL.

I don't like Lucy Worsley - but that's because I met her and found her bit off in person. Same reason why love Carol Vorderman despite not been keen on her TV/radio work- she set up mathsfactor reason my DC are looking or doing maths A-levels - but when they met her as part of that she was absolutely lovely to them.

Gaggley · 10/02/2024 14:06

Paloma Faith, just determindly quirky, but also going on mainstream talent shows to get press, and looking down on them at the same time.

MillicentMaybe · 10/02/2024 14:06

AutumnCrow · 10/02/2024 00:45

Lulu.

I reckon she’s angling for the Legends slot at Glastonbury. If that happens I’m gonna take off and nuke the stage from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.

She hasn’t a hope in hell.

BreakfastAtMilliways · 10/02/2024 14:08

Also a lot of these dislikes are less down to those involved than the sheer overexposures and overpromotione of the media machine. Any personality, no matter how congenial or inoffensive, gets irritating when shoved in your face 24/7.

I quite like DT, but I think playing Dennis Nilsen so well will affect his public image for some time. And while he can definitely act, I found his Hamlet a bit too, well, hammed-up for my taste.

Devgov · 10/02/2024 14:08

Carol Vorderman
Amanda Holden
Alison Hammond
Dermot O’Leary
Chris Packham
Naga Munchetty
Gemma Collins

Can’t watch any of them 😤

OriginalUsername2 · 10/02/2024 14:10

Yozzer87 · 09/02/2024 20:24

Lorraine Kelly.

She’s suspiciously nice. I don’t like it.

ILookLikeAPinkBlancmange · 10/02/2024 14:11

Jack Nicholson

14521hey · 10/02/2024 14:12

Well, there's this Nikita person (radio dj?), who was in Strictly this year and doing a few panel shows since and I don't know why but I really dislike her.

A few others mentioned on here that most of us agree give creepy vibes ( D Walliams being a good example).

Meadowflower2023 · 10/02/2024 14:15

I never really thought much about David Tennant one way or the other but after watching him host comic relief last year, he seemed so genuine, down to earth and compassionate. It made me actually really like the chap.

Bill Nighy really irritates me but I've no idea why.

I'm not a fan of Chris Packham either.

BreakfastAtMilliways · 10/02/2024 14:19

Timothee Chalamet- I have a visceral aversion to him, he just makes my flesh crawl, my stomach turn and an almost violent revulsion! I am not at all sure why I have such an intensely negative reaction to him!

It’s not his fault, but his face looks too feminine, pointy-chinned and triangular. Probably gives off similar vibes to someone who is clearly trans, despite being definitely male AFAWK.

Fluffywhitecloudsinthesky · 10/02/2024 14:20

I think David Tennant is good at playing creepy serial killers, that could be one reason we have such a visceral reaction- as Des, he's brilliant. He also tends, even when playing goodies, to be dour, not smiling so much, apart I suppose from the Doctor, but I think he does creepy unsmiling so well.

I realise, reading these lists, that I hardly ever watch programmes with presenters. I hate all of them! With a slight exception for Claudia, but even then she's a little irritating after two seasons, she's still cooler and more bearable than most. All the Stephen Mulhernes of this world, Holly, I just don't want to watch or see any of their 'cheeky hilarious' personas. I only watch online and in TV series where I don't have to endure any presenters, luckily there's loads!

Abby212 · 10/02/2024 14:20

All of the loose women cast and I loath Peter andre

Gary Lineker, feel like I want to slap his smug face
