MG5 or other electric car?

We are looking to buy a new (to us) car and considering the MG5.

Does anyone own one, and would you recommend it?

If not, do you have an electric car you would recommend?

Requirements:

  • Boot size of around 500 litres or even more
  • Spacious cabin - need to fit extended rear facing car seats
  • Under £25k for a car under 4 years old with no more than 30k miles, but ideally under 20k

Second hand (and even new) MG5s seem exceptional value for money, and have a decent Topgear review, but I wonder if I'm missing something of why they're such good value.

I have an mg zs so not the mg5 but also electric. I really like my car. I bought it a couple of years ago so it has loads of upgrades which are far more expensive if I was to buy it now.
A friend as the mg 5and loves it!

A few things to consider - do you have a charger at home? I didn’t at first and it quickly became a bug near finding places to charge my car. I found myself making sure I had enough charge left to drive around to find a charger. I used the charging places app which would tell me where available chargers were free but by the time I got to them they were taken. It also takes up a lot of your time waiting for the car to charge so an at
home charger is a huge benefit!

I would also highly recommend checking insurance prices first. My rate has gone through the roof and after talking to several providers, they have all said that electric cars devalue very quickly and are very expensive to fix.
