We not we, my husband once put a dirty 💩 nappy in the dryer. Don’t know why or how it happened, but the smell was unreal 🤢

BingoMarieHeeler · 09/02/2024 14:29

Wow 😁 3 kids in never done that…. (Well except for when we used cloth nappies obvs) Definitely going to happen soon now I’ve said that haha.

Spidey66 · 09/02/2024 14:29

I read it as putting a puppy into the machine, which would be even worse!

morningafterglow · 09/02/2024 14:32

Always looks worse than it is. I take the load outside or over the bathtub and shake each item hard to get all the polymer off. Then run it through a quick rinse cycle.

@MimiSunshine oh noooo!!!! Mine was only a pee nappy thankfully! It's the aftermath all over my kitchen floor that's a pain!

@BingoMarieHeeler well done you! Haha if I had 3 I'm sure I would have done it several times.

@Spidey66 oh gosh no. Thankfully wasn't a puppy!

I've basically thrown ds nappy downstairs to put in the bin then shortly after I've thrown a wash load down to of course put in the washer. On rushing I've picked said nappy up with washing and popped it all in there!!! Arghhhhh

I did this once. Putting the load in the tumble drier for the 10 minute cool down bit of the cycle removed most of it (also works for tissue!)

EmmaGrundyForPM · 09/02/2024 14:38

Never done it with a nappy but have often put trousers in the wash without remembering the (unused!) tampon in the pocket. I was picking pieces of fluff off the clothes for hours, so it must be far worse with a nappy

eandz13 · 09/02/2024 14:47

Oh god I've done this a few times (4 kids). There is nothing worse, it's such a pain to get all the crud off!!
I do not recommend trying to hoover it up... I had a bigger job of cleaning the hoover out after I tried that Grin

Helplessandheartbroke · 09/02/2024 14:51

@eandz13 I did this last time! Haha almost ruined the hoover!
