Anyone awake? Am awake with a vommy 1yo

My DD has been vomiting this evening. I think it was some milk that she had earlier that didn't sit right with her. No temp. Every time I put her in her cot she rolls onto her side and starts puking again. So she's asleep on me upright. Anyone want to chat about anything that isn't puke? 🤢

My son has been asleep since 8pm for a babysitter and rains asleep. He's never done this ever so I keep checking he's ok. He was breathing five minutes ago, might go check again.

He literally never goes this long

Sorry about vommy baby.

Sounds like your anxiety is as high as mine. I'm sorry 😔

Managed to get her into cot. She's snoring, so fingers crossed she's done with puking. But I won't hold my breath. I don't think I'm going to calm down enough to sleep now though.

Have you got anything nice planned for tomorrow?

Thank you. He had a lot of health issues as a tiny baby so now I'm terrified even though he seems
a fairly robust toddler. Local family centre and swimming is plan for tomorrow

I'm sorry, that sounds really tough and tricky to come back from for you. It's easy to forget how robust and strong they are when you care so much.

Swimming is a good plan- always tired them out 😁

Me too! I'm on such high alert though! She's more comfortable there, but I felt in more control cuddling her 🫣

Thank you. I'm angry with myself now for frittering this opportunity to sleep but I'm also really worried about him. We went to zoo and John Lewis yesterday. I must have tired him out

I am awake because I caught an awful vomiting bug, myself that has been doing the rounds at my son's nursery. Currently camped in the bathroom drinking tonic water in the hope that the bubbles will calm my stomach. Also happy to chat about non puke related subjects.

When I had nights like you are having when my DS was younger (he's now 2) I found putting on crap TV (like Virgin River) was a good way to stop me going to sleep and to distract me from the anxiety of it all.

theotherfossilsister · 09/02/2024 02:46

I know what you mean, I just want him to shout to come into bed with me, like he normally does ages before this

Kangaroo1 · 09/02/2024 02:52

I'm trying to make sure husband gets some sleep as he has work tomorrow and I don't. Just realising how uncomfortable this floor is 😂

Oh gosh, I hope the tonic water helps!

I’m up. My tiny humans have shared their germs 🤧 I have to be up for work in 3 hours and have a 12 hour day. Can’t wait 😵‍💫

@Teenytinyspongecake are they also in nursery?

Teenytinyspongecake · 09/02/2024 02:59

School. I’m debating what to listen to/watch to try and get a few more hours sleep.

Something you've seen/listened to before? I always stick a Louis Theroux doc on when I need soothing (even though they are a bit depressing!)

Thank you for the tip.I quite like the clips of Would I lie to you? Light relief and easy watching so will give that a try.
hope your tiny human is feeling better soon.

I'm another who's had a stomach/vomiting bug recently. It's really doing the rounds. Sad 20yo DD has had it too but thankfully DH and 15yo (with emetophobia) have avoided it so far.

Hope all the sickies are feeling better soon.

I can't decide if I want to put something on TV or just read on my Kindle. I don't have anything on tomorrow other than getting the youngest up for school so I'm not too bothered about if/when I sleep at least.

lalalala2 · 09/02/2024 03:11

I woke up, woke DH up and now we are both keeping each other awake!

Currently sitting my toddler who woke at 12.30pm and has refused to go to sleep since 😩 I'm SO tired 🥴

bryceQ · 09/02/2024 03:16

I'm up too. My autistic son has woken at 2am every day this week. I've caved and given him ipad and I'm lying in bed trying to rest. He normally goes back off at 6-7am 🥱

Hope you manage some more sleep! Have you got a busy day ahead?

Kangaroo1 · 09/02/2024 03:23

Oh no. You poor things! Hope you can rest even if you are being kept awake.

No plans for us luckily- I've just messaged my friend who was due to come round. And she's awake with her chronic pain condition anyway. Just praying it's not a bug and that it was the milk we gave her...I don't fancy DH getting it!
