Standard 9 - 5 job WFH.
Able to do school run around work hours. No work outside of these hours.
Primary aged children.
No family to help with childcare.

Would it be better to work PT or TTO??

Who looks after the kids from 3.30 - 5?
I'm TTO. Inset days are a pain. Everything else is great.
What would your PT hours look like?

Downandout21 · 08/02/2024 20:05

DH will look after children after school.

PT is three days a week

I would do TTO

I’ve never worked TTO. But working part time suits me brilliantly. I do three days, so in school holidays there are only 3 days per week to cover - can mostly cover that between me, DH and my mum. Add in the odd holiday club because the kids enjoy it. I get a bit of time to myself, and to catch up on errands.

I love TTO

Would you be able to get time off for sports days, sickness, parents evening, nativity plays if you're TTO?

I work part time flexibly, so while I need some holiday childcare, I find the flexibility all year round outweighs the need for holiday clubs.
