Rewiring

Posted in Property but didn't get a single response so trying here in hope.

Has anyone had their house rewired recently? How much did it cost and how long did it take?

We're about to start gathering quotes for a full rewire of a 3 bed, 1 bath bungalow and interested to hear others experiences.

Thanks.

It depends a lot on where you are how complex the job is, how much damage taking the old out and putting new in.

So people might give you their price but you might not be able to get anywhere near it, especially if it is pre-covid.

You just have to go down the usual route of getting multiple quotes if you want a price, because that is the price you can actually get someone to do the job for.

As @GasPanic says, it's a how long is a piece of string question..get 3 quotes from reputable tradesmen (easier said than done!) and go with the one you trust and like best.

(It's always more than you think - I had a new cable put in for a new range cooker yesterday which has cost £700...!!! We are in the SE and it took a whole day, floors were up and he ended up having to drill through an external wall (twice). )
