In Wagamama’s with DD..

Ordered two starters, lovely..

Clear starter and main…not sharing dishes etc

Half way through the starter and chef has brought main over..

This is weird right…

Im rushing down my calamari as my noodles are sitting next to me getting cold…

Would you say something?

We never order starter at Wagamama but they do always say that our order will be brought out when it is cooked so that could be at different times.

Not in Wagamama, they tell you that food comes as it’s ready . Totally normal there.

Lemevoir · 08/02/2024 13:57

I thought that Wagamama makes it clear that dishes are brought out fresh as they are cooked, so it is likely the main will be brought out shortly after the starter/meals brought to table at different times.

Normal for Wagamama - they are not starters, they are small dishes - all meals are all cooked fresh and brought out when cooked - have waited an extra 5 mins to my DH before

flipent · 08/02/2024 13:58

That's the way it works at Wagamama's - they do tell you when you order that food will come out when it's ready.
They are not listed as starters they are sides and sharers.

First time at Wagamama?

That's just how it is with Wagamamas. They do tell you. If you don't like it choose a different restaurant.

WhatWouldHopperDo · 08/02/2024 14:02

It's food that's designed to be eaten as it come - you dip in and out of the different dishes. It's the best bit about Wagas!

A bit of a miss communication I think, it was our lovely waiter’s 2 shift and so forgot to tell us food was brought out when fresh…

Though the menu was divided up into starters/shared plates etc I do understand the concept and the food was absolutely delicious.

They did offer to get me another plate as my chicken was stone cold but I couldn’t bear them throwing it away so declined.

I’ll know now for next time.

It's written in the menu that everything comes as soon as it's ready.

fedupandstuck · 08/02/2024 14:19

I really don't understand why you'd sit and watch your noodles go cold rather than eat the food altogether!

idontlikealdi · 08/02/2024 14:21

That's what they do at Wagamamas, same as in a taps restaurant, it comes out when it's cooked

maximist · 08/02/2024 14:41

If I don't want my food to come out in random order, I order my starter, then order my main when I've finished the starter.
