I've decided DS2 is continental

British bedtimes are considered absurdly early in Spain, right? I've decided to reframe DS2's appalling sleep habits as early signs of a flair for foreign languages. As he's 10 months old with monoglot parents I'm not sure how we're going to support his early promise, but I'm relieved I've finally got an explanation for his defiance around ideas such as "sleep cues" and "routine".

love this OP.

My children follow a “Mediterranean diet”.

(pizza, pasta….does brioche count?)

I used to call DD1 my French baby as she liked to spend a leisurely 1+ hours eating lunch & it usually involved blue cheese.

We are deeply Mediterranean for a family living in the north of England. None of us can go to bed at a reasonable time..

At yes. But then you have to comply with the compulsory siesta whereby the world completely stops until 4pm at the earliest, everyday, except Sundays which never start at all, of where dinner is at 9.30pm for children or 10pm for adults.

If just like to wheel in the sun please!

His preference would definitely be for a siesta at 4 and perhaps asleep at 11pm. For 90 minutes.

He does love a croissant too.

I'm pretty sure I've had brioche in Italy @Giveupnow!

My two never went to sleep before about 10:30pm despite starting the bedtime routine around 8pm. It was just their natural body rhythm. We're all night owls in the family.
