My dentist offers this and I was all set to start, but suddenly thought, perhaps I should use an orthodontist… does it matter? How do I know if they’re any good?

thanks

Definitely check their reviews.

I, and another friend, had through my dentist and brilliant but, as pp suggests, check the reviews.

There's a saying , if you only have a hammer everything looks like a nail.

Invisalign , like all orthodontic systems, has its limitations . If your dentist is someone who does a lot of braces and can offer several systems go for it .

On the other hand an orthodontist is someone who has years of postgraduate training in many different brace systems. They can , after taking models and looking at x rays , talk you through the pros and cons of many different systems so you can decide which is best for you. If you already have x rays these can be forwarded to orthodontist , but you will have to pay for an initial consultation.

You are only going to do this once so make sure you are happy you know all the options. .

I did it through a dentist and worked out well for me, was happy with my results. Definitely check reviews etc though as i have heard a few horror stories.

My teeth are fine and don’t need train tracks, Invisalign is fine for what I need. I just need to know if invaslign is better through an orthodontist or a dentist. Stupid questions but how do check reviews? Through the dentist website?

There is not just Invisalign and train tracks , there are dozens of different brace systems, each with their pros and cons . seeing a dentist or orthodontist who offers several different systems means that a dentist is not just using one system to try to fix all problems.

What do you mean by “my teeth are fine”? If they didn’t need some correction, why would you need Invisalign?

You can use Google for reviews or Trust Pilot for example.
