Stalking trial at crown court? Experiences please

My stalker was charged with stalking fear of violence, it is going to crown court for trial. For Stalking fear of violence I believe the defendant can sometimes choose crown or magistrates so if they let him choose I’m assuming he chose for it to go to the crown court. I’m nervous as it will be a jury who know nothing about stalking, does anyone have any similar experiences or advice at all please? Thankyou!

Hi there, so sorry you are going through this. The stalker in my life pled not guilty and then changed his plea right at the last minute, while all the witnesses were waiting to be called, like a confidence game to be honest. So this might happen to you too, it will all depend on the amount and quality of the evidence. What I found useful was ensuring that the CPS were right up to speed with what was going on, so I made sure they knew I was asking questions and I was checking they had all their Ts crossed. If the evidence is strong enough the stalker won't be able to wriggle out of it. It's a really stressful time, but hopefully the worst is over now. How are you coping? xxx
