Car hire without a credit card, is it possible?

Do any companies offer car hire if you haven't got a credit card? I need to urgently hire a car in Dublin.

I haven't hired for a few years, but I used to do it weekly. I saw so many people who had pre booked get to the desk & get refused because they don't have a credit card. They use it to reserve an amount in case there's damage I think and won't accept a debit card or cash.

I would check the hire company t&c's. They're usually pretty strict.

Yes, many companies do. I've hired one on a debit card before now. Just check the conditions of the individual companies.

I've just had this issue and couldn't find somewhere in Dublin that would take a debit card. I had to take a credit card out 😐

Enterprise do it. If you don't have a credit card, they take a £200 deposit on a debit card.
