38+2 and looking for any sign of labour...

So just for fun - what were your early signs of labour ?
Both times with me I've had a show, approx 36 hours before contractions started. No show yet!! My last baby I had at 38+3, I really thought I'd have started by now...

Just giving a bump

Throwing up was the first sign for me at 38 weeks. Was sick as a dog the night before, DS was born.

Not nice ! Did you get any nausea beforehand ?

I am so uncomfortable atm, last night I barely slept with restless legs and looks like it'll be the same tonight 😭😭

Not to make you too miserable but my third baby decided to not show up till 42 weeks so you may have a way to go..

Luckily I am booked in for a section next week , so only a week to wait! But it's not making the waiting any easier, time is going so slowly

Contractions with both but lasted a week with second . Did have a show about 24 hours before they were born with both.

No show or breaking waters. Just felt like I needed a poo. Feeling wouldn't go away then realised they were contractions so had a cup of tea and bounced on my ball (Giovanna Fletcher said this is what she did!) then took a taxi to the hospital. The whole thing took less than 9hrs. Good luck!

For two the intense pain of induction and for the middle one needing to push. I was in hospital in the pre natal ward for all of them due to pre-enclampsia.

So it seems I'm having some period type pains started in the last hour which are coming and going, hopefully they will progress and not tail off...

For me, I had some really weird surreal feelings the day before. I wanted to go for a quick walk but only made it about 200 yards from the house, partly because of pelvic pain, but also because there was this voice screaming in my head “don’t go! Don’t go, turn back!” And so I did. Then later on in the evening, I was in a really weird mental state - a bit high maybe, can’t really compare it to much as I’ve never taken drugs 😅 like I was hyperfocused on stuff, all the colours, smells were so vivid and raw. Went into labour that night 🙂 hope it’s not too long for you either!

I had the most bizarre urge to paint my toe nails! It was going through my head all day that I can’t be giving birth with my toes looking how they did.. it was like the final thing I needed to do before I could go into labour. Did them around 11pm, woke up at 7am having contractions and baby arrived by 12pm!
I think that was my version of nesting 🤣

Waters never broke it was plug loss

Isn't it weird how our brain tries to tell us things sometimes !!

Well, the pains stopped after a couple of hours 🙄 the last two days I've been on long walks with the pushchair just trying to exercise my pelvis really, so I'm going to do that again this morning and hope it gets things moving. Never been so fed up
