Galentines day

Have seen this mentioned a few times on line and googled what it is, apparently it has been around a while now. If you don’t know it is on 13th February this year but can be anytime between 1st and 14th February to celebrate platonic love between friends, especially for women/girls.

Is this a thing for lots of people? This is the first year I have seen it mentioned.

I saw it on Parks & Rec (the US TV comedy show) years ago. I think it's a bit of fun but I don't bother with it myself.

It's just another commercial opportunity.

It’s crazy isn’t it. If I got something for galentines day for my friends they would think I had lost the plot.

Commercial rubbish imo.

It's like the Friendsgiving some Americans did last year. Seems a bit odd but knock yourself out if that's what makes you happy. We are going out with a group of friends for dinner on Valentines Day - just worked out that way due to availability. Maybe I should get them all cards and call it Palentines?
