What made your new town feel like home?

DD has moved to London for a grad job. She’s moved in with her boyfriend into a lovely rented apartment. She’s enjoying London life, but says it doesn’t really feel homely. She has been allowed to decorate the flat and owns all the furniture. But London still doesn’t feel like home.

Looking for suggestions. What about getting a dog? I joke.

Making friends outside work. Join a hobby club, take a class, join a book group. That’s what works for me and I’ve moved loads (hobbies in my case revolve around music and theatre).
