I sent a gmail today at 12.07pm and it wasn't received by the recipient until 18.49pm.

What happened there? It was pretty important so very frustrating. I'm using a Chromebook so how can it have happened?

You can delay when emails get sent on Gmail. Maybe you did that by accident?

Could it be a slow WiFi connection, either at your end or the recipient's?

The problem might not be at your end at all.

Problem with your broadband/internet connection, problem with the recipient's, problem with gmail's servers.
