Is it shit? I thought it was a nice place to go (having never been) but a couple if people have said it's a real s**thole. Is it? Would you go there for a family holiday?

Beaches are great. It's also well located to visit lots of Cornwall. Not a beautiful town in itself though.

@whyamiawakestill can you expand? What bad about it? The place we've looked at is just outside. Dc will like the beach, can't see us going into the town itself much.

Perranporth I think is still nice. Watergate Bay is preferable. Newquay itself is a bit rough. It's a shame, I lived there in the 80s and it was lovely then.
