Just made an error on child's passport renewal online....

Hi all
Just wanted to see if anyone had done the same and made a bit of a silly mistake on passport renewals.
I was renewing both of my boys passports online. Did the youngest ones and for some reason put in the date of birth of the eldest child!
I didn't realise until I'd finished both of them.
Has anyone done anything similar and how was it resolved? Feel sick at the thought of just losing £50 for a brain fart error.
I will try and call them tomorrow but have a feeling I'll be in for a long wait on the phone!

If it's a renewal, it's likely the error will get picked up and the application declined (in fact I'm surprised it went through online). You probably will lose your fee though.

I put in wrong my DS date of birth wrong but sent a letter in with required documents, old passport and birth certificate and it was fine

The advice line is normally answered pretty quickly. I'm sure it will be able to be sorted.

I spelt DS's name wrong on his passport renewal last year. I rang the helpline the next day and told them (I rang at 9am am they answered within a few rings).

The confirmed that I wanted the renewal to mirror his expired passport. Or get told me to put this in a covering letter when I sent the old passport in.

The new passport was back within a week, with all details correct.

Thanks for the positive comments. Will call them first thing and hope for the best. I'm such an idiot!
