I've booked an apartment ages ago for half term in may in Newcastle with the kids. I was going to go on my own with the kids. I don't drive so didn't care that there was no parking.

Now my partner has said he can come and will take the car. The area is jesmond and everywhere is resident parking permits.

Ive contacted the owner to see if I can have a visitors permit but I doubt that will happen.

Can anyone suggest where we can park our car that's not too far. Would we be able to stop the car outside the home to at least drop off our luggage.

I really don't want to cancel it but feel I may have to if the parking issue is a problem.

Look on My Parking app. Put in the address and it will show you places you can pre book and pay for.

I will see if I can give you a discount code for referral

Nope but have an internet search for one.

Jesmond has terrible parking, it's a very student area so generally they don't have cars. There's an undercover car park at The Holiday in that's 24 hours that you could enquire about a price for. Tbh I'd recommend not taking a car to Jesmond.

I'd be surprised if the owner doesn't have something set up for the parking tbh as others have said parking in Jesmond is terrible.

I know there is some meter parking outside the Royal Grammar School but idk if you can park all day. There are a few pay and display spaces on the road near the dene under Armstrong bridge but I don’t know how long you can park there either. You may be able to use one of the big car parks that some of the metro stations have and then get the metro to Jesmond, maybe Regent centre or 4 lane ends.

Our residents parking has recently been changed so you don’t qualify for a pass if you don’t live in your house - so next door; which is primarily an Airbnb, doesn’t get parking anymore.

Here you couldn’t stop outside to unpack legally, but if you were really quick, you’d be unlikely to get caught. We don’t have a free 15 minutes or anything though.

I’d travel however you were initially going to and your partner comes with you - get rid of the car idea; it’s just extra stress.
