Arrrghh Tesco hasn't turned up

And they don't tell you!

I'd be absolutely happy if I just got a text saying "hey we've had to cancel, come pick it up or reorder for tomorrow". But they don't let you know and so I've been sitting here like a lemon waiting, and waiting... Sent a twitter message an hour ago, no reply... The app says it's on its way, website says delivered.

I can see from their socials that they've had issues taking payments today, but I got a receipt this morning and no messages saying they couldn't take my payment, so who knows! Where is my shopping?

Anyone else?

Ours was over an hour late, but did arrive.

MySonCyrilBaconSniffer · 03/02/2024 16:43

Did you opt for a flexi slot or fixed?
I occasionally worry I've accidently chosen click and collect instead of home delivery.

hoarahloux · 03/02/2024 16:46

Fixed slot, I have the same one every week.

Coming up to 2 hours past the slot now, I don't think it's coming!

Van breakdown? I'd give them a call for sure.

MsSquiz · 03/02/2024 16:58

Have you called them to find out?

KrazyboutKillian · 03/02/2024 17:03

Contactless was down in our local one today but ok with entering a pin
maybe they are having system problems still ?
can u call them and then you woul know either way

chattyness · 03/02/2024 17:14

it's ruddy frustrating, their website has been glitching a lot lately too hasn't it. Ours was cancelled a couple of weeks ago due to extreme weather which was fair enough, but only 3 hours before it was due, They said click here & book another one, but there were no slots for 3 weeks! They could have easily cancelled the day before at least and given us time to find other options locally for the urgent stuff, in a small village everything runs out so fast

AuntyMabelandPippin · 03/02/2024 17:16

Mine came late this afternoon, but they texted me to tell me that. It arrived when they said it would on the text.

smallplants · 03/02/2024 17:18

Call them. But when you get to the options on the menu, select the one that refers to 'payment' rather than 'delivery' and you will get to speak to a human.

I'm annoyed that they changed all their delivery plans. I used to have the cheap mid week one and now the cheap one is "after 3pm" which I don't like. I think the later your order is booked, the more chance of issues. I remember a 6-7pm one turning up at 11pm once. And I'm usually in bed by 9! Don't think the neighbours were thrilled with all the clattering at that time either.

I always go for 10am now but appreciate that's not practical for everyone. But it seems to only ever be tescos you hear about these problems with.

ScottBakula · 03/02/2024 17:30

I had this the last week , delivery was meant for saturday but there was a error on the system which affected lots of people ( pos nation wide ! ) so the order was cancelled with no notice until about 2 hours after the due time .
When I checked my order for the umpteenth time it just said cancelled. so after a phone call I got a automated call back saying sorry please rebook a slot .

Because this affected everyone the slots on sunday had all been taken so I had to get on on monday evening at 7pm ( Work FT ) it still had not arrived at 8.30 so rang them and apparently it was out for delivery but the van had broke down so it was been rerouted , I eventually got my order at almost 10pm .
I felt sorry for the delivery guy as he was getting abuse left right and centre and it was not his fault but i can understand why people ware cross , Tescos communication is shocking !

hoarahloux · 03/02/2024 17:36

I get good results with the twitter DMs rather than sitting on hold on the phone.

Result: order "could not be delivered". No reason specified! Driver quit mid shift? Van drove into a ditch? Thanks tesco! They're pretty reliable mostly but when they're not it's a shitshow.

Ours is due between 7-8 but funnily enough we had issues paying today! Got a message to say the payment hadn't got through and to try again, used the same card and it went through luckily

hoarahloux · 04/02/2024 11:41

Guess what turned up first thing this morning?

If you guessed "the shopping, half of it missing but with a whole load of random shit like fish pie mix, baby potatoes and a crate of Fanta", correct!
