Derby.......nearest airport

My relative has recently moved to a nursing home in Derby. I would like to visit her......can anyone advise me what's the nearest airport to Derby uk.

East Midlands airport is about 8 miles from Derby, that's the closest

If Derby city, then East Midlands followed by Birmingham.

Just to add it depends where you're flying from as East Midlands is only a small airport that doesn't fly to long haul destinations.

East Midlands, then Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds Bradford and Stansted. Humberside isn't that far away but very limited passenger flights.
