What would you do...

I know it's ridiculous asking strangers on a forum but I really need other opinions.

We have a caravan that we've had for years. Started off very affordable and like everything has gone up in price significantly. I've just had the fee for the new year and it's £3500 ( not including gas and electricity)

We have moved house to a doer upper and the reality is, it's costing quite a bit of money to get things the way we want them.

Kids enjoy caravan and it's nice to have but my two girls play netball on Saturdays most weekends now and my son plays football.

Im in two minds as to sell the caravan as it's just expensive now and the kids are getting older but then I'm torn between feeling that we will regret it and that in a few years we will ( hopefully) be in a financial better place and it so it won't matter so much.

What would you do?
Ps I know it's first world problems and the caravan is really old, not a new flashy one or anything. But we would never be able to afford one again if we get rid.

We had one and sold it for the same reasons you state, particularly kids having weekend commitments. Whilst I occasionally miss it, it was the right thing to do. We still aren't in a position to be able to use it often enough to make it worthwhile.

Put the money saved towards a better holiday

Are you allowed to rent it out? If so I'd do that to get some money back.

If not I'd say it's time to let it go.

Sell it.
It's an expensive just in case scenario.
As it ages it will deteriorate and devalue and its just a future maybe that you may want to use it again.

I would sell it too as your not using it very much and 3 and a half grand can get you a really nice holiday.

No, unfortunately we aren't allowed to do this on our site.

Friends had the same problem. Costing more and more in rent etc so they got rid of it and got a tourer instead .
