Typing one character of my email address and everything turning red with a THIS IS NOT VALID message

Pressing back and it returns to the top of a very long page that I’ve already scrolled down

Job sites that say "upload cv" and then ask you to fill out EXACTLY what's in your cv in individual fields, and then write a cover letter summarising what is in your cv.

Seeline · 02/02/2024 09:28

Forms with optional fields that turn out not to be optional when you press next, and also remove all the other info that you have completed.

TeabySea · 02/02/2024 09:28

Flashing images
Badly written instructions (as in being illogical, or saying "click on x" but not mentioning that you have to do something else first)
Poor grammar and/or spelling
Horrible fonts
Too many colors
Not set up for mobile use

Sites that have adverts after every paragraph or those big scrolling adverts that you can't scroll off without pressing on it

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 02/02/2024 09:33

Sites that look as if they were built 30 years ago by someone learning how to build a website.

I hate these too, also ads that suddenly play sound when you’re trying to mumsnet at work

Why isn't your phone on silent? Also the volume for media can be switched off even if you want to keep sound on for calls and notifications.

If you click on an advert link for an item you like, it takes you to the website but not the item. You have to search for it. This puts me off buying things.

Catsmere · 02/02/2024 09:38

Sites where the Advanced Search option doesn't come up till you've wasted time with a lot of irrelevant search options ...

MargaretThursday · 02/02/2024 09:51

When they tell me my (perfectly normal) email address isn't a real email address. They'll take [email protected] though.

When they have lots of moving wonderful things that take forever to download.

Flashing (sets off migraines) adverts.

Where you have to go through all the pages to try and find what you want because they're not logically done.

Where there is no way of getting in contact for a query.

When they want a "secure password, at least 12 characters long, including at least one upper, one lower, number, special character and it hasn't got to have any possible words in" for something that really doesn't have to be secure. I mean I'll never remember an individual one like that so either I use a generic one that I use for lots or I'll never remember it and have to do forgotten password every time.

Yellow writing on black. (I find it impossible to read)

Websites that don't make it clear whether to click the tick box or not for accepting or not email from 3rd parties

MagpiePi · 02/02/2024 10:12

Having to do scrolling and ticking/unticking options to manage cookies when the default is already set to 'necessary only'.
Having to create an account if I want to buy something
Automatically getting marketing emails after buying something.
