I'm just wondering if there is anyone on here who works in or around Biomedical Sciences/Healthcare Sciences or any kind of laboratory job.
I graduated with a degree in Biology in 2018, then did a Master's in 2019. I worked in an NHS laboratory as a MLA for 6 months before moving into an office-based role in the Pharmaceutical industry. I then started retraining to become an NHS Allied Health Professional, but upon a lot of reflection I've decided that I would like to go back to the labs.
Does it sound feasible to go into laboratory work when it's been 4 years since I was last in a laboratory? I know band 2 MLA positions can be hard to get as lots of new BMS graduates snap them up to get their foot in the door for a trainee position. Do you think I'll be able to get back into it with such a gap?
Does anyone have any advice? I would like to eventually get my degree accredited and do some top up modules to become a Biomedical Scientist.
