Want to go skiing but dh does not

I've been skiing once in my life, more than 30 years ago when I was in my 20s. I bloody loved it! But then I met dh, he refused to ski, then two kids and there's no way we could have afforded it for all four of us. But the children have grown and flown the nest now ...

So here I am a novice single skier aged 60. Is there a package holiday I can go on where I won't stick out like a sore thumb?

What a shame... I'm in the opposite position of being forced encouraged to go skiing by DH. Maybe we could swap. Does your DH enjoy crochet?

Couldn't you go somewhere with apres, sledding and stuff for him and ski school for you?

I like solo travel but the evenings are a bit lonely.

This is only from googling but what about The Ski Gathering? They put solo travellers together in chalets and they have an 'over 50s' option.

Just make sure you budget for your travel insurance...

Otherwise I would put the word out and find some friends to go with.

There are LOADS of options - check out Huckster Ski for a start. Friendly small company (with admittedly a slightly confusing website) who cater to singles as well as groups and have lots of more mature regulars.
Sure others will be along soon with other recommendations 😊

Can't he just come but not ski? The scenery etc would be lovely

I don't have any useful information but wanted to say what a marvellous idea. Go for it! Solo travel is wonderful and you can please your plums. I hope you have fun.

I'm just back from this trip www.pilaski.co.uk/images/PDF/Ladies-Only.pdf
Small group aged from 41-57, mostly consisting of a few of us whose DHs don't ski. There should be one on next year, I’m planning to go if the dates work out.

Or if you need tuition,Ski goddess looks really good albeit more expensive skigoddess.co.uk/ at different levels.

We used to go skiing as a family. DP couldn't because it was too risky for him physically, but he walked and read and drank and ate and sightseed and had a great time. And we did family stuff in the evenings. They were brilliant holidays.

Solo skiers on Facebook is worth a look. I haven't used but thinking of it next year.
