Stupid shit I can't help doing - make me feel less alone!

When I sneeze I bite my tongue roughly 60% of the time. Occasionally badly enough to draw blood. I'm a berk and it hurts. But I can't seem to stop it happening. I just did it again and now my tongue is sore.

I also frequently put my fingers in my mouth when I have laundry detergent or soap under my nails. This, however, is somewhat more in my power to control and yet I keep doing this, too. For this I nominate myself for the award of Grand High Wally, 2024.

I bite my tongue almost every time I chew gum which is very annoying as I find gum helps me stay focused when driving but then biting my tongue is a big painful distraction! I never used to do it but in last year or so it’s started to happen more and more to the point now it’s rare I don’t bite my tongue. Have you always bitten your tongue when you sneeze?

As far as I can remember I have... definitely the whole of my adult life.

I also use gum to focus. Am immensely glad I don't chomp myself when chewing that! I think I'd be unable to work effectively or drive anywhere!
