Wooden chopping board suggestions

Hi All,

I'm looking to buy a good chopping board after years of just getting the first one I saw that looked nice in whatever shop I happened to be in.

I've heard that teak, maple and beech are the way to go -- and that buying from an independent woodwork type is just as good, if not better, than buying from a brand.

But I'm nervous about spending still quite a lot from a random person on Etsy or wherever.. and was hoping to hear some success stories from those who've bought this way before... Any advice?

Have a look at David Mellor Design cookware.

I have very poor knife skills and an iroko board.

Ideal combination!

ETA: Mine was made for me by an ex-boyfriend. The board has outlasted him tenfold. 😏
