North Yorks hols with toddler

Heading to North Yorks in Feb for a week’s holiday, staying in Ampleforth.

Does anyone have suggestions for fun things to do in the area with a 2.5 year old?

We plan to visit York for the day, and also Whitby, with a stop at Dalby Forest. Otherwise would love some recommendations.

Thanks in advance

There's the national birds of prey centre in Helmsley. Helmsley itself is very pretty (probably not appreciated by a toddler!)

Brimham rocks - not sure if 2.5 yr old a little bit little but it is an astonishing place.

Steam railway at Pickering.

Railway museum in York is fab.

Flamingoland or Lightwater valley? Not sure how open they'll be in Feb though.

Sea Life centre Scarborough, go into town and ride the carriage thing from beach to the cliff.
Piglets farm park is great.

Thank you all! I’ll look into these.

Seems like there’s so much to do, it gets a bit overwhelming looking at options online!

North Yorkshire is huge too, try and group things together to save on journey times (remembers holiday in the nym with 2 year old)

If you go to Scarborough, Peasholm Park is very nice if the weather is fine.
