Keep me company in A&E please?

Had a lot of gynae issues recently and after spending the last 24hrs flooding and passing the biggest clots I've ever seen 111 have sent me down to A&E.

In a lot of pain and feeling rough but obviously not a priority case so settling myself in for a wait and worrying about who's picking the kids up after school etc.

Anyone around to chat and keep me company as a distraction technique because I don't really have anyone in real life to talk to. Please?

Sounds awful. Sorry you're dealing with this. I guess trying to get the GP to write something stronger for pain relief. Of course trying to get a GP appointment is not an easy feat. Women's health is very poor, although there are some places in the country that have emergency gynaecology places so might be worth looking and seeing if there are any near you. I think there is one is Bristol and Liverpool. So no good if you've no where near but if you are might be a good option.

Try for a GP appt today
Have you got hosp letter you can email to them?
Say you don't want to bounce back to the ED this morning so you have to see GP for pain management as a minimum and you're struggling to manage with your children

Did they not give tranexamic acid or norethisterone? I would contact gp if still bleeding heavily and passing large clots. There's things they can prescribe to help with the bleeding. Hopefully you get some relief soon

Was the high BP related or separate?

Ring your gp. Find out when you will be referred for further treatment/investigation, and ask GP for pain relief.

Sending 💐

I'll definitely mention tranexamic acid and norethisterone, had them both previously and honestly, don't have a massive impact but willing to try anything.

To complicate things I've got an extremely bad allergy to opioids so they're always really cautious in trying painkillers but what should've been a 15 minute journey to school has just taken 45 so basically need to put my big girl pants on and attempt to advocate for myself don't I.

@iwonderwhatsinside I actually had a fairly similar experience in October! It was perhaps a bit less waiting around as they were filling me up again and pulling consultants out of their beds to help stop the flow. It was a strange experience waiting around with all those people working around me. I didn't have much pain like you have (sorry to hear) but at one point they gave me morphine which I found out I do not react well to. Very sick after which the poor junior doctor had to help me with. I found it funny that they were very concerned with covering up my boobs while I was speadeagled. I do hope they step the flow soon for you and that you can get some rest and answers and recovery. Take it easy for the next few weeks and treat yourself kindly xx

I'm so sorry, I thought it was happening right now so I replied accordingly. I definitely agree that you need answers and a consultant to speak to. Mine turned out to be a burst artery from a lletz procedure I'd had two weeks previous. I am terrible at chasing things up but had to call about 9 times after nearly dying to get that info, and I still didn't want to! Just call call call. Wishing you the best with recovery and answers x

How are you doing today lovely?

Sorry you’re going through this OP, have been to A&E several times for the same and all they do is check my iron levels and send me home. I have a gynaecologist appointment next week and hoping it will be the last before I have a hysterectomy. I am on Naproxen pretty much all the time as I can’t take anything else. I have days when. Bleed so much I can’t leave the house. Scans have only showed a tiny fibroid which they say isn’t the cause. I am have a hysteroscopy next week (hopefully) and they will remove any fibroids and take a biopsy so I can get the go ahead for surgery.
