R4 recording at BBC radio theatre - anyone been?

I'm excited to say that we're going to a recording of The News Quiz on Thursday. However, I've just noticed that the small print says you can only take in one small A4 sized bag....does anyone know whether this is enforced? We're travelling to London from Suffolk, and I was planning to take a backpack! Any advice gratefully received...

Yes. A back pack should be fine. I think they just mean dont bring a rolly suitcase. As there is nowhere to store it. And you get moved around a bit. Checked in, then holding area, then the theatre.
Enjoy!

There is a cloakroom where you can check in any bags that are deemed too large. (They upped security when I was last there and even small bags had to be checked in that day.) Do remember to take one of their approved forms of photo Id - also in the small print!

Thank you - I was hoping it would work like that. I've been once before, to see John Finnemore, and don't remember having to check anything in...

Oh lucky you!

Just make sure you get there early, when I went it was a free for all for seats and the friends I went with didn't get in because they'd given out too many tickets (they were coming independently but we'd all planned the trip together)
