Spending in December

I’ve just gone through our family budget for December and we spent £1650.26 in December on our food and eating out. This includes our Xmas food and drinks, meals out and drinks out in New Years. A family of 4. It’s more that we usually spend my about £500 on food and eating out. How does this compare to your family? I am aware all budgets will be different.

We're a family of 5 with three children under 6 so little eaters (but loads of fruit). We spend between £400-500 per month on food, depending on what's happening that month.

I haven't checked, but I'd imagine we spent around £600 in December. My Xmas food shop was more but we don't eat meat so it wasn't hugely different and otherwise we didn't eat much differently. Obviously spent more on other stuff like presents and days out though.

On weeks where we don't need nappies and laundry detergent etc, our shop can be as little as £70 a week. But usually around £120 when we need everything.
