@FuckYouJanuary what is novovirus!?

Haha

flusterbluff · 30/01/2024 20:59

Teen dd been bullied in sly, destructive and vile manner. School being useless as won't do anything without evidence. What evidence do they want? The state of my dd is evidence enough.

I'd rather all of your month to mine

itsmyp4rty · 30/01/2024 21:09

Good god I hate January but moaning that it's cold is just ridiculous after reading the things other people are dealing with. I hope February is kinder to you all.

BakedTattie · 30/01/2024 21:11

I thought I was having a shit month until I read som of the replies here.

really hop February is better for us all

Caramilk · 30/01/2024 21:53

@flusterbluff
I'm off work with stress due to exactly that. Apparently two independent witnesses don't count as evidence.

Head in sand because it's easier for them... except I'm the latest in a line so all head in sand is doing is encouraging them.

I'd get her out.

Lost family court case again abusive ex, therefore have to share DS 50/50
Found of I had endometriosis and possible nerve damage
Paid an enormous legal bill so I have no savings now.
Got scammed 300 at the weekend so can't pay bills.
Fell out with my mum because she couldn't care less about what's happening in my life right now.

Florawest · 30/01/2024 22:09

I am sending ye hugs and prayers, this year hasn’t started too bad but have had my share of rotten ones.

💕🕯️🙏🏻 💕

changedusernameforthis1 · 30/01/2024 22:10

Hope things get better for you soon.

This month hasn't been too bad, but today I woke up with a shitty cold and the man who came from the council said they can't just repair the leak, they have to pull up the whole bathroom floor because it's rotten. No access to my toilet for roughly 5-6 hours and I have IBS 😅

INeedNewShoes · 30/01/2024 22:43

@StringTheory1

Will your current lender not allow you to switch to a new product?

I'm with Nationwide and you can take out a new mortgage with them without going through the finance approval process. I wouldn't pass the affordability checks for my mortgage if I was applying afresh but because it's a 'switch' with the same lender it's ok.

Howmanynamestaken · 30/01/2024 23:45

I thought I was having it hard until reading some of the replies 😳 2nd Jan I was referred for suspected bladder cancer, 22nd given the all clear, 27th went out to celebrate and been in bed since with food poisoning and a bad flu. January can do one!

RandomPoster456 · 31/01/2024 01:31

My sister tragically died abroad by drowning in the early hours of New Year’s Day and a list of house repairs as long as my arm including; broken heating, two leaking windows and a separate leak in my living room that no one can seem to figure out where it’s coming from. This year can go fuck itself already.

burntoutnurse · 31/01/2024 01:41

Stepdad diagnosed with lung cancer (never smoked) as we arrived home from holiday.

3 days later he was admitted to hospital rapidly deteriorating.

Another day later my wonderful supportive DP was called back to sea.

Vomiting bug leading into my birthday a few days after that,

Back to work for me a few days after that.

My poor dog then slipped a disk that day and now can't walk and needs to be crated for 6-8 weeks. Emergency vet fees.

My pay was wrong again, fourth month in a row. So skint with a big £400 vet bill.

Ordered our wedding invites. They all had a misprint on them.

Coupled with my older teen being vile towards me.

My car was also hit today,

So January can indeed fuck right off

burntoutnurse · 31/01/2024 01:43

I hope February is much much better for you all

FluffyFanny · 31/01/2024 07:06

Oh dear OP. Your January has been shit. You knew people would come on and trump you but your's was still shit!

whattodo22222 · 31/01/2024 07:15

What horrible months people have had :'(

Between us, my toddler and I have been ill since boxing day. Covid, norovirus, chest infection, other minor fevers. Childminder got sick. SEVEN emergency leave days at work, meaning I have only 3 remaining for the rest of the year. Mum had an op for lung cancer and we couldn't even visit her in case we passed on one of our diseases. DD has a referral to a paediatrician for not gaining weight.

peachgreen · 30/01/2024 17:45

I fervently hope that no month in my life will ever be as bad as the one in 2020 where…
DH was rushed to hospital and ended up in intensive care in a coma
DD (2) got a chemical burn at nursery and ended up in a different hospital
DH died suddenly and unexpectedly after being released from hospital
My brother was diagnosed with bowel cancer at the age of 32
My best friend’s dad was told he only had weeks to live
DD’s nursery closed down permanently with no notice

And this was all during lockdown 2. Hideous. I honestly don’t know how I’m still here!

I remember your thread, and I think of you every time we open the bedroom window overnight! (We also like to sleep cold) Hope you are doing well now, as well as can be.

Sorry to everyone having a terrible time at the moment. February 2022 was my dreadful month, miscarriage, car died, vet bill, huge family secret uncovered, roof collapsed and riddled with debt. This month has just been the usual slog thank god.

scorpio5 · 31/01/2024 09:03

@peachgreen I remember your threads too. Hope you and your daughter are doing well 💕

Riverlee · 31/01/2024 09:05

Hoping things get better for everyone going forward.

5YearsLeft · 31/01/2024 09:35

You know, I don’t believe in a bunch of smarmy, horrifically fluffy stuff but even before I was dying, I did always like the saying, “It’ll be all right in the end. And if it’s not all right, it’s not the end.” A vast majority of you are going through or have been through a hellish time. But what I notice is that there is MORE time. And yes, there may be more hellish times before the end, but there will also hopefully be more good times, and hopefully the latter will outweigh the former AND hopefully you’ll be having good times right up until the end.

That said, I do understand what you’re going through @DilemmaDelilah . It’s tough to have a life-limiting illness with a few years on the clock. It’s a lot of time to think, and depending, it can be a lot of time where you’re too ill to be well and too well to be ill, stuck in a sort of no man’s land that only other chronically ill people understand. But you can always hop in the minibus with me and whoever else fancies - we’re on our way and we’re paving the road to Hell with bad jokes and good intentions.

Not easy. 6th form. A-levels. Not easy to move schools as everyone does different exam boards/have covered different modules. But having said this, mental well being is more important.

I'm so sorry. This is so awful. 💐
