I upgraded to iPhone 14 on Sunday but wanted a 15. I was pretty distracted at the time and I’d been adding stuff in an out of my basket to check prices and just ended up with a 14 - the 15 is the same price on the contract.
I realised what I’d done but couldn’t stop it so contacted Vodafone on Monday morning. They said they couldn’t stop the delivery but to decline it and not give the driver the pin code they text so they could see that id not received it.
they said to then call Vodafone and advise I’d done this and that it would take around 3-5 working days for the phone to go back and my plan to be reset so that I could upgrade to the phone I wanted.
Iphone 14 arrived this morning and I duly declined it and called Vodafone afterwards to let them know - as advised.
The woman I spoke to today said it could take up to a month to be corrected. She said 7 working days for the phone to get back to them and then 2 - 5 working days for them to scan it back in and then they need to confirm it and change the contact back. If I’d known this I might have just had the 14 as I know there’s not a huge difference. I use my camera a lot though and the 15 has a better camera.
She also said I should have given the driver the pin? The guy yesterday was clear that I shouldn’t because they there was no way DPD could have claimed to have delivered it.
anyone else had this? I have 14 days legally under the cooling off period.
It is causing me a disproportionate amount of stress. I’m worried I’m going to end up paying for a phone I don’t have and getting stuck with my old one for another two years.
Thanks!
