40th birthday party

I'm 40 soon, and I am planning a party. I'm wondering what, if anything, would make it extra good.
Maybe something like a photo booth?

Has anyone had a 40th party, or been to one, and have any ideas they'd share please?

Most importantly what do you think would make it extra good?

Well it depends entirely on your personality and what you like.

I would hate a photo booth, but you might find it fun.

No ideas, but I think it's good to have somewhere with the music etc, but also somewhere people can chill and chat especially if they've not seen each other for a while. The last few things I've been to (weddings included) there's hardly been anyone on the dancefloor as people enjoy catching up.

I would have a ceilidh dance

People say they hate photo booths. But then they are the only photos we have that are printed anymore. They are plastered in various locations over the house.

I had a 90s party for mine.

I put the Spotify playlist together. Dance floor was full most of the night.

I had a donut mountain for a birthday cake.

I got my original Playstation down from the loft and loaded it with Tekken.

I had a table with 90s board games on.

I had a TV playing a loop of 90s ads on YouTube.

I got the bar to ensure they had Smirnoff Ice, Hooch and WKD on sale.

Dress up was optional, but most wore something 90s based.

I had the best time!
