Is there a template way of figuring out which frames suit your face? I need to get a second pair of glasses and with the cost involved want to get this correct.

There may well be a magic formula but basically it just comes down to trying loads of different ones on. Take a friend or partner who aren't afraid to tell you the truth, and get them to pick out frames as well.

Also, random tip - if you have long hair, try them on with your hair up as well as down. With some frames, they look beautiful when I have my hair down, but if I wear my hair up, I look like Deirdre Barlow!

Someone once told me if you've got a square face go for round frames, and square frames for a round face. I have a round face and only square/rectangular glasses suit me.

But I agree with a PP, just try and load on and go from there

You can also order something like 4 pairs to try on at home, think you have a week to decide (dh did this). I just tend to go for the same style time after time (or get old frames re-glazed) because I'm dull.

looks like I have to go in and try loads- I can never decide though. Some look good in the shop mirror/lighting but not quite right when you walk out
