I've been working as a TA and Lunch time assistant in a primary school for 6 months now. Wow its given me an insight! I cant believe how incredibly bitchy the environment is. Everyone moans/slags off about each other and sometimes its in front of the children. I've heard staff making inappropriate comments and mocking the children or there parents/guardians.
No one respects anyone. The head is leaving at Easter(not exactly a surprise) but isn't anywhere to be seen currently. Theres no support in place nor no leadership. I've brought up a few issues safeguarding ect and it's been brushed aside.
The Lunch time team is just as bad they bitch and moan about the ta/teachers
Please tell me this isn't normal and if you work in a school what is your environment like because ours is certainly not pleasurable to be around.
The school comes across as such a high quality, great community, team effort and outstanding rating ofstead school and in reality its not that at all!
