70th birthday ideas please

Evening

My dad is going to be 70 in May and I wondered if anyone could suggest some.ideas for a gathering.

Going to be at my house with a large garden, house and marquee available , probably about 30 guests

I was just after some ideas to make is really special. Dad is a music lover and loves a variety of music, really loves pop master on radio 2. But a disco doesn't seem right and just wondered if you could share any ideas for themeing/activities/catering/food please as I'm just drawing a blank at the moment

Not many ideas here. But be prepared for some posters to come up with some good ideas for a 70 year old, and a bunch of others to say why should the 70 year old not have the same as a 25 year old/35 year old/16 year old???

I would suggest a book token - or Amazon voucher for some tunes!

I went to a party on Saturday and they had a band - electric piano, accordion and fiddle - it was absolutely brilliant and people loved it.

So I would recommend something like that.
