Early pregnancy - think I’ve done something stupid re massage!

DH was massaging my feet, then he moved on to my calves up to my knee. I’m somewhere between 4-5 weeks pregnant. I have just read online that deep pressure on the legs should be avoided as it might dislodge a blood clot. I’m now really scared something bad might happen if it has dislodged a blood clot. I don’t think I’ve ever had a blood clot before.

I am unable to be rational atm and am feeling health anxiety. Can someone tell me it’ll be okay and stop me googling / worrying? I want to not give it another thought but with my brain on overdrive that’s not likely going to happen!

You’re ok. If a blood clot had moved you would know it!!! Remember how many people don’t even know they are pregnant in the early days

Honestly OP it’s fine. There are so many things to worry about during pregnancy but it’s very unlikely that a massage would cause a blood clot.

It’s more, if you already had a blood clot you didn’t know about the massage could migrate it apparently

It’s absolutely fine. I used to get a foot massage every night in my first pregnancy. Last time that’s ever happened. 😂

A blood clot can only be dislodged if it exists in the first place. Unless you've been sitting on a plane for 24 hours, smoke or have a history of DVT then I don't think it's anything to worry about.

I would also highly doubt your DH's massage was deep enough pressure to do any harm, but I'm probably judging him by my own DH's perfunctory massage standards!

This is a really good time to seek some support for your health anxiety, your pregnancy is going trigger a lot of thoughts about your health.

Presumably you're fairly young and healthy if you've managed to get pregnant so it's unlikely you'd have an asymptomatic blood clot just hanging round in your leg for no reason.
