Remember these they are called sports biscuits, each one features a little man playing a type of sport. I loved them as a kid, and does anyone remember the iced version?

I loved those too. I don’t remember iced ones but maybe my parents just didn’t buy them.

Deathraystare · 28/01/2024 19:23

I do! Did not like them much though.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 28/01/2024 19:24

Malted biscuits? I loved them whatever they were called.

MargaretThursday · 28/01/2024 19:28

I remember them. My brother called them cow biscuits because the normal version had a picture of a cow on. Loved the sport's versions, weren't they a limited edition or something?

MissyB1 · 28/01/2024 20:31

I’m not sure these ones were limited, mind you I definitely remember the iced ones more clearly.

I’ve tried to Google the iced ones and can’t find any evidence they existed! I hope I didn’t imagine them 😂

We had cow biscuits in our house too! There started to be chocolate cow biscuits after a while, but they're the only biscuit that chocolate doesn't go on.

MissyB1 · 29/01/2024 08:15

Well both my sisters have confirmed the iced ones definitly existed, at least i know I wasnt hallucinating!

I don't remember iced ones, but, wow, that takes me back! I used to love those and the cow biscuits. I'm off to Aldi today...!

howaboutchocolate · 29/01/2024 08:46

A blast from the past because obviously only men can do sport and be represented in biscuit form.

I do remember them though!

Borka · 29/01/2024 08:58

I remember the iced ones - they were only for birthday parties because they were a bit fancy!

Ha, we had cow biscuits too. We also had pig (actually fig) biscuits. In fact I still buy them occasionally and we still call them cow and pig biscuits.

Ha yes, always iced biscuits at a birthday party! aaah the good old days when a party was at your own house with traditional games and a perty tea made by your mum.

@MissyB1 Ah but it could be some weird sort of family group hallucination though... Wink you'll never know for sure...

Sgtmajormummy · 29/01/2024 12:10

I’m 56 and just remember uniced sports biscuits being sold loose, and often in the broken biscuit selection at our grocer’s. Early 70s.

SunnySideDownBriefly · 29/01/2024 12:23

Wow - I definitely remember these. And you've made a vision pop into my mind of an iced biscuit with white, pink, and (maybe) brown icing? Like a Neapolitan icing? Quite wobbly?

RebeccaCloud9 · 29/01/2024 12:38

Are they malted milks? Have never stopped buying them (the cow ones). Marks and Spencer's ones are delicious

Evenstar · 29/01/2024 12:42

I think these might be the iced ones PP are remembering. I bought a packet of the un iced sports biscuits in Home Bargains about a year ago

WinchSparkle80 · 29/01/2024 12:44

@SunnySideDownBriefly I remember those, proper treat!

baroqueandblue · 29/01/2024 13:15

The Peak Freans iced biscuits I remember were rectangular and came in a packet rather than a tin, and they didn't have figures on them like the Sports biscuits.

I do remember (un-iced) malted milks (or similar) with illustrations on, but they weren't sports figures. Trouble is, I can't remember what the pictures were of 😄 (1970s)

carkerpartridge · 29/01/2024 13:18

Yes I remember the sports biscuits although I don't think I had them very often.

RestingCatsArseFace · 29/01/2024 13:18

I remember pink iced ones in an assortment.
I was still buying Malted Milk ones without the little people until about 4 years ago, but they were supermarket own brand ones. I don't kow if they are still available as I no longer buy palm oil biscuits.

Now I do remember those ones! They were round with one side divided into thirds of pink yellow and brown icing. Gorgeous!
