Finding joy in the little things

Any day I can hang the washing out makes me happy, good for the environment and good for my clothes. Double joy when I find I've absentmindedly created a green to blue ombre! And the jolly colours were nearly dry when I pegged out the all-blacks, 'tis wind here today.

Hope you are finding joy in the little things today too.

I got laundry dry on the line yesterday, and made a hurdle fence from coppiced Hazel from the garden.
Today I'm making good progress on a tricky jigsaw and enjoying the peace of DH and DS being out for the day.
Life is good.

Two nice walks with the dog, and well on my way to 10,000 steps.

SwordToFlamethrower · 27/01/2024 16:37

I enjoyed a crisp sandwich today 😋

On long winter evenings I am always drawn to some minor stitching, sometimes just repairs, occasionally making something (eg a shopping bag out of old denim squares). Yesterday I tried basic embroidery writing, might embellish the bag...

Had to go to a funeral this week but am staying with my mum. Everything stops for morning coffee and afternoon tea, with a bun or a biscuit. Small moments of happiness.

MysweetAudrina · 27/01/2024 16:45

Morning yoga class and a walk with the dogs 🐶 s up the mountains for me today.

dafft · 27/01/2024 16:45

I'm sitting by the fire with my cat on my lap and drinking tea with a teapot! Had a walk by the sea earlier

CalmAfterTheStorms · 27/01/2024 16:46

My two sons helped fix my fence and secure my climbers that had been badly damaged in the storms. I'm in my own and they are a big help to me.

Housework all done and flat sparkly clean ! Love it.

I just ate an M&S walnut whip. I also am stupidly relieved to have finally returned my daughters library book. Winning.

Went for a short walk by the river and found some swans to feed. Small moment but a happy one.

Just finished constructing a field shelter for the horses, with DH. My mum and her DH came up to lend a hand too, which was amazing! It's a heavy duty poly tunnel, which sounded simple to assemble, but in practice was really heavy! Feelings of satisfaction all round now that beast is built! Just hope the nags are grateful and use it!

I enjoyed peeking through the door crack to see my three young children jumping off the sofa onto the throws and cushions, holding hands and cracking up. They're the best of friends and I'm so grateful for their loving natures.

You all have such lovely posts from enjoying a cup of tea to children having fun. It's good to appreciate the little things, thanks so much for sharing!

Today, after a week of me trying on my own, we freed the fake Miele bag from the bag holder in the vacuum cleaner, unintentionally detached the bag holder from the machine too but managed to replace it. And, discovered through an online search that our local electrical shop stocks the real bags cheaper than the fake ones in the city centre so all is good for the future of vacuuming in the house.

In an hour I am going to take a hot shower and then settle in to watch great pottery showdown with a kitkat and cuppa in my pj's. The house has been tidied, the fire is lit, dc and pets have been fed. Absolute bliss.

it was surprisingly sunny here today. Got some washing fully dried on the line! Yayyyy

I went for a walk, I wasn't sure where I was going today & changed my mind several times. I ended up going to see the baa-baas. 🐑 the field they're in usually has cows (that I visit too) there's an array of white, brown, black 🐑 and they're lovely. I carried on to the second pub, which was quite full of those out for their Sunday Dinner, but there wasn't anyone outside, so I had a lovely latte, in the sun. I left later than planned, so it was a dicey walk home on a windy country road in the semi dark.

it was a longer walk than I had thought, but feeling good today, so it was nice.

Got home to all the jobs I should have been doing, still, we'll gloss over that!

made a (vegetarian) burger for dinner which was really good!!

bit of Phil & Kirsty 'love it or list it'. Need a drink now, it might have to be the mulled wine I can hear calling me... 😊

'arguing' with the current bloke via text, he's one more comment away from being told just to fuck off.

but I'm not letting it spoil my day!

Seeing our beloved little cat back to health and bouncing around again after we nursed her through a cold that made her so ill we thought we'd lose her.

Coming home from work to a big mug of PG Tips, milk and 2 saccharin!

On a Sunday when I'm not usually working I have ''date days'' with my hubby where we sit in front of his laptop and binge-watch films, 3 of them one after the other!
