Any recommendations please? Prefer central or near the event campus.

Looked on trip advisor- can’t decide!!

Don't know what the 'event campus' is but the Premier Inn on the Clyde is really nice.

HappyFeet63 · 27/01/2024 12:37

Crowne plaza is fab with a great breakfast - definitely recommend

Breathmiller · 27/01/2024 12:39

How many people and dates? I got Ibis Central for £43 (with breakfast) a few weeks ago midweek and its now £134 for a Saturday in February for instance.
I find hotels in Glasgow generally pretty decent and affordable (much more so than Edinburgh) so you should be a able to get something good for that price.

And Ibis Sauchihall street was a fine enough room for that price, nothing fancy or big but the breakfast next door at Novo (with the Ibis booking) was amazing. I'd stay there again just for the breakfast

PomsRun · 27/01/2024 12:47

April 13 for 3 nights.
the crown plaza has no availability- that would have been my first choice.
Thank you.

Where’s the event campus ? I recommend Leonardos (formerly jury’s inn) next to central station or a bit pricier and in the west end of Glasgow there’s the gorgeous Grosvenor hotel.

PomsRun · 27/01/2024 12:54

Sorry it’s event campus

Nice hotel Glasgow

I've not been so its not a direct recommendation but I just looked up Booking.com and Native Glasgow hotel suites looked lovely. Got good reviews. Maybe someone who has been can give a more personal review but might be worth looking at?

Thisvehicle · 27/01/2024 13:02

We always stay at the Clayton - it’s lovely

3weecherubs · 27/01/2024 13:02

Radisson red. Fun rooftop bar too!

Thank so much.

The recommendations are great - especially as lots of trip advisor reviews are 1 time posters for some of the hotels…

Not stayed for a while so don’t know what the current rate is but I love the Raddison Blu, it’s right across the road from central if you down the escalator so really easy train to the SEC. Hotel Indigo is nice too.

Oh, I see. In which case, The Premier Inn I mentioned is directly opposite!

ToffeeSheep · 27/01/2024 13:45

I live in Glasgow so haven't stayed in most of these but would suggest looking at the following:

Near event campus:
Radisson Red
Moxy
Hilton Garden Inn
Courtyard by Marriott
Campanile

More central:
Hilton Glasgow
Grand Central Hotel
Radisson Blu
Blythswood Hotel
Malmaison
Dakota
Dreamhouse Apartments
Millennium Hotel
Citizen M

There are also a number of Premier Inns/Travelodges etc around the city.

The event campus is also near Finnieston, which has lots of lovely restaurants, and not far from Kelvingrove (museum) and the West End of Glasgow. Glasgow has a subway system (just goes round in a circle!) which is useful for getting around.

Enjoy!

PomsRun · 27/01/2024 13:49

Thank you very much - so helpful.

Any thoughts on voco grand central ?

Next to Glasgow Central Station so handy if you are travelling by train! Nice hotel, lovely champagne bar!

Crooklodge · 27/01/2024 14:19

Do NOT choose Yotel.

Cosycover · 27/01/2024 14:22

Close to SEC I'd go for Radission Red or Moxy.

MistyMountainTop · 27/01/2024 14:22

I've stayed at the Maldron and Radisson Blu, would go back to either
