I know everyone loves a good moan these days but I am genuinely impressed with passport office. Only sent old passport back on Monday after applying online for new one the same day .
Shiny new passport arrived today,that really is bloody good efficient service! 👏

That's great, Ohlordy! Tbh positive experience is often overlooked and its quite saddening.

I ordered mine last Sunday online and it's being delivered today... 6 days!

Ds2 renewal was back in a week. I applied with several months to spare just in case so now I've lost 4 months but can't complain.

I did mine through the post office digital service and it arrived after 11 days - both services were brilliant and the texts and emails keeping me informed along the way was excellent customer service. Can't fault either 😊

I last renewed mine and my DD's when they were having all those problems after Covid. They were back within days too. Luck of the draw at that point I think though! I always use the PO service.

Generally it seems that if you're a straightforward case it goes through v quickly ie renewal with the old passport available.

I used to work at the ppt office, it’s always really quiet in January. I always renew in Jan before the mad rush starts for summer hols.

Just updated mine and teen DS and they both came back so quickly, I was shocked but really happy, going away in May, another thing I can tick off the list.

6 days for me too! I was so pleasantly surprised!

Same here, it was ready for printing in 2 business days since getting the old passport and we received the new one new one in under a week of filling in the application. Really impressive turn around. The online forms are also so much easier than the paper ones.

I took mine in last August to PO.
All done plus photo..sent off...regular updates on progress, new shiny passport 6 days later. Full Marks, Passport Office.

I once got mine back within a week, in the days of paper forms. From abroad through the ofgicial embassy system... it was actually only with the passport office for 24hrs!

This is the post I needed to read today! I applied for my son's renewal 2 days ago. In 2022 it took 6 MONTHS to get my daughter's back. Had to get our local MP involved and we almost missed a very special holiday. I had traumatic flashbacks logging back into the website!

I agree my new ones came really quickly. Its not just the passport office though its also Royal Mail who have the contract to deliver the passports :)

Agree. They are amazingly efficient. Something that works in the UK...it's an absolute miracle!

same here, we ordered one for my husband on friday and it came on Monday last week. I ordered my son’s first passport and it came less than a week later. I was well impressed too 😆

I renewed mine a couple of months ago and was blown away by how quick and efficient it was. Even being able to use a code from the photo machine for my electronic application.

My ds’s came in 9 days earlier this month
one of the few things in the UK that seem to be working well (for now).

Just got my DD's first ever passport and it took a week including having to send off her birth certificate 👍👍

Took mine into the PO on Mon to use their service but as of today, when I track it online, it’s still saying that the passport is waiting to be received by the passport office! Has anyone else had this?
