DS wants a puffa. What's warmer, uniqlo or Northface?

This might be a silly question but do they have tog ratings like duvets? Otherwise someone will have to have worn both brands to be able to answer your question

Lifestooshort71 · 26/01/2024 07:58

If they are a teenager then warmth won't matter - having the right puffa jacket is the important thing.

You can't go wrong with a North Face

If you can afford it, get North Face.

BigBundleOfFluff · 26/01/2024 08:43

From experience with my teen - get the one they will wear! It's North Face round here.

ChocoChocoLatte · 26/01/2024 08:45

North face here too. Very sometimes have them 20% off.

They're expensive but if it helps, I got my first set of NF gear 25yrs ago and it's still going strong!

BadLad · 26/01/2024 08:48

North Face is much warmer but also much pricier.

TeeBee · 26/01/2024 09:29

Northface...it's like wearing a duvet.

Goldiex · 26/01/2024 09:31

Zavetti Canada for my son.

DD has a Uniqlo puffer but it's lost its puff and she was getting cold so we went shopping for a replacement. Looked in Uniqlo and they have really gone up in price. Ended up in Superdry who had masses in the sales and got a really thick one with UNIDAYS discount for £60.
We were going to look at North Face next but as it's for school didn't really want to pay that much

TokyoSushi · 26/01/2024 09:41

A 'technical' puffer will likely almost always be warmer than a 'fashion' puffer, so I'd go North Face if you can!

This is what I'm thinking.

Hmmm if only these pesky kids would stop growing! 😂

There have been threads on here about secondary school students not wearing coats in the coldest of weather as they no longer have lockers and there's no room in their bags. I have current experience of this so have never wasted money on decent school coats at this age but kept ones with the right logo for out of school.
