I've had a chest i section and flu like symptoms for three weeks. The last hour or so I have not be n.able to stop coughing! It's getting more dry and tickly. I've be n coughing so much I'm now struggling. What can I do to help? It's really getting me down. I'm staying to panic I'll cough so much until I can't breathe!!

I'm the same op, have been drinking hot blackcurrant juice with honey in it and it's helped a bit? A shower with lots of steam might help give you some relief as well?

For a dry tickly cough you want to stop, not a productive cough that is doing something useful

an antihistamine worked for me.

Please be aware I am not medical at all, and know nothing. I also tried this "swallow once and hold your breath while telling yourself firmly not to cough" thing. You start breathing again very slowly and evenly, as deep breaths can trigger another coughing fit. It helped a bit.

The other thing that helped was putting my hands around my own neck, like mock strangulation, and rubbing quite slowly and firmly.

Again, please know that I have no training or qualifications in medical care at all

Same! I had Covid just after Christmas and that went. My son had a viral infection and that’s going but I have developed a non stop cough for the past 4 days, and it’s doing my head in. Will try hot water and lemon now

I've just made a cup of tea with a teaspoon of honey. It's ridiculous. It was a productive cough for days and it's just turned all dry and hacking. I'm genuinely starting to worry myself because it's literally non stop! I've never known anything like it!
