Advice- Council financial assessment- urgent

Please can anyone direct me to an organisation who can help us with a council financial assessment for our adult son who has ASD? The council engaged carers to take him out for 4-8 hours a week, but neglected to tell us there would be a charge, and now they've asked us for a financial form and unknown back payments. Thank you.

Might be able to direct you to a source of help if you are willing to say where you live...PM me if you would prefer not to say it on the thread.

How old is he? If he’s an adult and not on your UC or tax credits claim anymore then they will only look at his income (the daily living part of PIP, any job income, Universal Credit, ESA, etc) and savings. They will allow him to keep a minimum income of around £127pw.

Your council website should have details of the financial assessment. Here’s the link to the calculator for mine if yours doesn’t have one and they should be fairly similar https://trafford.mycostofcare.com/OFA/?view=IncludePartnerPage

Thank you TwoBluefish . We are in Wales but your calculator did help. We think we know what will be backdated, but were never advised of any requirement to pay.
