My Dad is 93
Last week he received a letter from pension credit saying they needed to ring him to discuss his finances to check he was getting the correct amount of pension credit.
They rang today asked how much was in his bank and sort code etc
They've said they will send a letter with self addressed envelope and can he send a latest bank statement.
My dad has £890 in the bank
No other pensions etc
Why are they doing this now?
He's been getting this years ?
He is getting himself all worked up and upset about it worrying .
I've told him not to worry
Why have they done this randomly ?

Call on his behalf, make sure it's not a scam

From TikTok it looks like a new thing to cut down on fraud, those that are making regular income and not reporting it
