I've had a shit 2023. Dh was sacked and is still unemployed. Dd dropped out of college. Ds has mental health problems. I had breast cancer.
All this time I've been working ft trying to keep focus on delivering projects at work. It's been difficult to say the least.
Yesterday I had my end of year review and I got exceeded expectations!
I am so happy and proud of myself.

Anyone else had good news recently ?however small let's celebrate our wins

I don't have anything to add but I didn't want to read and run. Congratulations on your appraisal, sorry to hear of your bad year but fingers crossed it's on the turn for the best

I'm hoping it's the start to a better year.

Congrats OP! My good news is my son had a bad accident last year and we paid for his physio (about £5000) - totally worth it so he could walk again but a big debt!! This morning we got told that his insurance will pay for it. Totally expecting that they would wriggle their way out of it somehow but they are paying. Woo hoo!

I've good news today. This morning, I've been referred for a surgery I've been worried about asking for a referral for. I still don't know if the hospital will accept the referral, but the GP said what the diagnosis was as well, so if I need to go private, I now know it's the lesser of the two things it might have been, so the solution is within reach whichever way it goes.

I can't tell anyone IRL because they'll ask what the surgery is and it's one of those horrible problems that's not fit for polite conversation.

Well done on the surgery referral! They can be buggers to get. Hopefully it'll be accepted and you can get a date

Well done OP! I've had instances of dangerously high blood pressure recently. Have cut salt, booze and caffeine but hadn't seen much of a change at home. Just been to the docs to get investigations started and even with ASD DS having a meltdown and biting my hand in front of the nurse, my BP was perfect! Everything else is a pile of shit but that felt like a win!
