Thread of positivity

I’ve noticed of late (and probably for a long time) I’ve been quite a negative Nancy. Of course it’s fine to be down sometimes or to not always be perky, but I’ve noticed I have a general negative attitude. Having similar people in my family I know what a big impact it can have on everyone when someone takes a generally negative view to almost everything they do.

So I have a (late) New Year’s resolution to try and have a more positive outset. I’m starting with one work thing - and event I have next week that I worry is going to go poorly. I’m changing my approach to trying my best and focusing on the things about the event that go well. At home - with my kids trying to notice more of the kind and helpful things they do.

So I thought I thread might be helpful, for anyone who wants to join.

what one positive thing has happened in your life this week? Or what thing are you starting to think about in a more positive light?

I am also a negative Nancy.

Reading MN, I have realised I am very lucky in my mum. She's lovely, unlike many of the mums here. Though unfortunately she lives in another country.

Also grateful for my good health and my recent fairly rapid recovery from a hysterectomy.

I have always been a cup half full person, preparing for the worst, and I seem to drag people down with me. Wish I could change that, but it’s within me.
So, positivity. From another thread we’ve been trying to change/add a new thing each week, and it’s now a firm habit for me to drink a green tea and eat an orange and apple every day. I feel good about that.
My next habit is going to be to stop drinking caffeine after 1pm.

@Sususudio health is such a good one. I’ve known so many people get conditions recently and I’m so lucky to be relatively healthy. It’s means so much…no medication, able to do any activity I want, get about, play with the kids.

@DustyLee123 the new habits idea is great. I might try that….starting with drinking a glass of water first thing in the AM
