Same old shit. But im excited over a hippo bag. I'm getting totally rid of all the crap that's in the garden and hiding in the house
It feels like there's a bit of a shadow and I want that gone.

I can't do it properly until the weekend . Something to look forward to though

Well done, sounds like you have a proper plan in place and are ready to tackle it.
The amount of crap we have is so huge we are frozen and don’t know where to start. One room at a time, I suppose…one day.

Flitch · 24/01/2024 23:57

Yes- get rid of the big stuff- can your council do a bulk collection? and then fill your rubbish bin for every collection, week by week until it's done.
You'll feel lighter and more regulated yourself.

Theoldwoman · 25/01/2024 00:03

Well done OP! Love your threads, very motivating!

Bulk collection is not suitable. I'm going to get rid of everything I can . But I'm going to put in the hard to get rid of stuff first. Yeah will definitely feel better once its done

I got a builders sized skip last year and threw out loads of stuff and loads from DH garage where he keeps all his 'just in case we ever might need it' junk. It's a great feeling. Well done on getting the garden tidied up.

I prefer a skip . But he could only do wait and load. It felt a bit rushed doing it like that .

What's a hippo bag?

Shithole101 · 25/01/2024 09:24

I need to clean up my bottom floor again. I have really let it slide. My kitchen is a tip as well . I'm gonna give myself till around 10am. Then do the kitchen .

You will get there a bit at a time. As others told me . I didn't believe them . Thought it was hopeless . But its actually true.

Just read up on a hippo bag! What a great idea.

Good for you OP! I need to find some of that organisation and motivation myself!

TheSnakeCharmer · 25/01/2024 09:32

I think that you're turning into a cleaning motivator for the rest of us. I would genuinely love to hear your top tips for decluttering and how you have motivated yourself.

ImJustMadAboutSaffron · 25/01/2024 09:34

Is this an ongoing story? I am starting a clear out at home and need motivating (and more time I am afraid) Would you link me to the other threads please?

Omg I don't really have any. My motivation is kind of a cross over of negative/positive. I post pictures on here of the mess its often pretty awful and I feel ashamed and embarrassed. But I still post lt anyway. I get a handful of nastiness amd judgement . But mainly everyone has been lovely and then I feel motivation from peoples posts. And they keep me going .

OhamIreally · 25/01/2024 09:56

I really enjoy your posts and the before and after pictures. You should do it on YouTube I think you'd make a fortune!

OldTinHat · 25/01/2024 09:59

What a great idea! I've used a Hippo Bag before and had forgotten all about them.

I love your posts. You make me look at my house after reading and think 'I must sort that out today' and I get stuck in.

You're inspiring!

Shithole101 · 25/01/2024 10:01

I'm gonna time how long it takes to do the kitchen 🤣

🤣. I'm feeling a bit vulnerable at the moment. So I did not post them. But kitchen was in a simlar mess to what I have shown in the past apart from there was broken egg shells over the floor. From when I forgot to to take food waste out and the dogs ripped it all open.

Shithole101 · 25/01/2024 10:47

Anyway kitchen is 95 % done. . Don't know why I have left the last 5% . Anyway whilst I was in there I made a quick basic chicken stew. And thats in the pressure cooker. We will probably have that tonight and tomorrow
