Someone tell me there is an easier way

... to open a bloomin' child proof cap! Been wrestling with the calpol for 20mins. I've pushed and twisted every which way I can think of. I'm almost at the point of giving up. Someone tell me there is a secret way I have just yet to master in my 40 odd years...

Turn it upside down and press it onto the floor. With your weight over it then twist the bottle but only just enough to loosen before the liquid comes out.

Use a tea towel or a thin hand towel for grip.

Gnash your teeth and swear under your breath as you twist. This step is important.

For one second I thought this genius idea would work. Alas though I got a "click" it's still firmly twisting in place. I can only deduce I have a defective cap..

This has been my preferred method. Though quite honestly I'm almost at the point of throwing bottle and towel in (literally)

Bring it around next door & I'll do it for you. Seems to be my neighbours solution.

run it under the hot tap, then use 2 damp cloths, whilst squeezing the pinch point.

give it to a 4yo

Use rubber gloves to push and twist - sounds weird but it's the only thing that works for me 😂

Brute force, gnashed teeth and a teatowel have resulted in a de-lidding, but only of layer 1... layer 2 stubbornly remains...

Layer 2 is off!!! Thank you everyone! I am now administering said medicine whilst silently cursing the inventor.
